Learning Community <Vaekker>

A learning community with Artist Collective Rigidbody brings people together through nine programmes in creative technology and shared making. Generative AI, facilitation, typography, 3D forms, sensing and audiovisual experiments become ways to develop and exchange creative methods.

VAEKKER #01: Visual Generative AI.

VAEKKER #01: Visual Generative AI

ComfyUI provides a shared setting for studying diffusion models and the processes that turn them into generated images. Participants explore how a node-based workflow can be adapted to the circumstances and aims of their own work. The programme connects ComfyUI and TouchDesigner as materials for experimentation, keeping the design of a creative process open to discussion and revision.

VAEKKER #02: Facilitation for Creative Learning

A workshop on creative learning explores how facilitation can support interdisciplinary education with new media technologies. The group considers the facilitator’s role and concrete ways to initiate, sustain and extend creative activity. Learning is approached through the conditions that enable people to experiment together, bringing attention to the relationship between a group, its materials and the guidance it receives.

VAEKKER #03: Interactive Procedural Modeling

Blender and TouchDesigner connect procedural 3D modelling with real-time interaction. Participants explore flexible workflows and interfaces through which forms can be changed while they are being made. The programme treats a model as a set of relationships and rules. Testing parameters and responses becomes a way to develop a personal workflow and explore the possibilities of procedural form.

VAEKKER #04: Typography for My Practice, with Interaction

Typography becomes a material for exploring form, structure and a personal design language. After an introduction to typographic principles, participants experiment with interaction in Spline and translate the results back into analogue print. The process connects paper and pen, digital behaviour and a physical result. Moving between these forms provides different ways to examine how a letter can be constructed and experienced.

VAEKKER #05: AI + VFX: Next-Gen Workflow

The programme experiments with compositing AI-generated material and live-action footage. Images made with MidJourney are brought into a workflow using Blender, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. Participants examine how generated sources can be selected, placed and revised within a moving-image composition. The focus is on practical ways to bring AI into production while developing new visual expressions.

VAEKKER #06: Object. React. Record.

Computer vision becomes a way to reinterpret everyday objects through their detection, response and recording. TouchDesigner, Teachable Machine and object detection connect observation with an interactive creative process. Participants explore an organic flow between an object and a system’s response, developing personal approaches to planning and making through real-time experiments.

VAEKKER #07: Algorithmic Cultivation: Growing What Is Not Alive

Language becomes an input for generating unexpected 3D forms through Blender, MCP and Cursor AI. The programme follows the exceptions, errors and chance events that appear as a model takes shape. These variations become material for artistic interpretation. Participants explore what can emerge from the interaction between a person’s words and an AI-supported modelling process.

VAEKKER #08: TOUCH AI-NPC

ChatGPT API is used to design an AI persona that can become a responsive non-player character. Participants build an interactive text-based game with Cables.gl and experiment with how dialogue can give a character a sense of presence. Personality, interface and response are developed together. The programme examines how interaction between a person and an AI character can become part of an immersive game experience.

VAEKKER #09: Sound of Vision

Small changes in video pixels become material for experimental sound. AI-supported detection and TouchDesigner track variations between frames and connect the visual signal to Ableton Live. Participants explore how changes in an image can generate sound in real time. The programme works from vision toward listening, testing a relationship in which visual and sonic elements affect the same responsive system.

The nine programmes connect image generation, facilitation, procedural 3D modelling, interactive typography, AI-assisted compositing, computer vision, language-driven forms, AI characters and sound. Participants work with tools including ComfyUI, Blender, TouchDesigner, Spline, Cables.gl and Ableton Live, developing their own approaches through making, testing and discussion. Rigidbody’s collective practice provides a setting for these methods to meet, while the VAEKKER Retrospective Exhibition returns the experiments to a shared archive.
